Today we celebrated Dr. Seuss Day in our school. To celebrate, Primary students came dressed as their favorite character. They also participated in group readings and activities and wrote their own stories. Dr. Seuss Day is an annual celebration of the life and works of the German-American author Theodor Seuss Geisel, who was born on the 2nd of March in 1904. He is best known for his children books such as The Cat in the Hat, The Lorax, The Grinch, etc.
The day also coincides with National Read Across America Day in the U.S.A., which encourages children and adults to read and partake in various activities such as picking up an interesting book, visiting the library often, getting caught reading, reading to your children, and reading aloud.
